Who we are
RummyCardPlay is an independent website run by the RummyCardPlay Team. We build the games, write and check every rules page and guide, and read every message sent to us at [email protected].
RummyCardPlay is a free website for playing Indian Rummy in your web browser and for learning the rules properly. Every game here is free entertainment: there are no deposits, no entry fees, no stakes, no cash prizes and no withdrawals. Points in our games are only a score.
What you will find here
- Six rummy games against the computer on Easy, Medium or Hard, each in English or Hindi: four 13-card Indian Rummy games for 2 to 6 players (Points Rummy, Pool Rummy 101, Pool Rummy 201 and Deals Rummy), 21 Card Rummy with three decks for 2 to 6 players, and two-player Gin Rummy.
- Guides that explain rules, scoring and strategy with complete example hands, such as valid and invalid declarations, when to drop and a rummy glossary.
How we build and check the games
- Rules first. Points Rummy follows the rules most Indian tables use: two decks with two printed jokers, a cut (wild) joker, at least two sequences with one of them pure, sets in different suits, drops at 20 and 40 points and an 80-point cap. Where home games often differ, the rules page says so.
- Checked by code. The game logic has automated tests for dealing, grouping, declarations and scoring. Before release, 2,400 computer-vs-computer hands were run through an automatic rules checker, which found no rule violations. The details are on the Points Rummy page.
- Pictures drawn from the rules engine. The example hands in our guides are checked by the same rules engine the game uses, and the pictures of those hands are generated from that data. Their labels and point counts are calculated, not typed by hand.
- Fair play. Cards are shuffled with your browser’s cryptographic random number generator. Computer players only use what a person at the table could see, and every hand is shown face up when the deal ends.
- Light on data. Each game downloads about 35 KB (compressed) and works offline after your first visit, so it suits everyday Android phones and slow connections.
Our content rules
- We only describe what our games actually do. If a feature is not built yet, we say so.
- We do not invent players, reviews or quotes. When we summarise what players say about rummy apps, we link to the source.
- Guides show the date they were last updated. If you spot a mistake, please tell us and we will correct it.
Besides the games, we build free rummy tools (a points calculator, a declare checker and a daily puzzle), write strategy guides with engine-checked hands, and publish rummy data studies from our own simulations, each with its method and sample size.
How the site is paid for
Some pages, and the game’s result screen, can show a small block labelled “Sponsored” that recommends other free apps. It never appears in the middle of a hand. We do not use advertising networks or ad trackers.
